We highlight a few of the plants found in the Biology Building greenhouse whose blooms produce a stench. Their foul odor is often likened to that of rotting flesh. This "fragrance" works well in attracting certain flies and other carrion-seeking insects to pollinate the flowers.

• Bulbophyllum phalaenopsis
• Stapelia gigantea (carrion plant)
